history

Fixed Gear Athens came together after few of the members of the local/athens collective decided to “get rid of all those noisy bits”. At the same time other people were starting to ride pista builds as students abroad or just for commuting. We met and  started riding together, became friends and even more than that.

FGA flourished through the “ATH: Commuting In Madness” film project, filming for which lasted for 1 year aprox. The film received very good reviews from abroad and was screened in USA, Japan and Europe. Ever since then web edits keep coming out from different people, a development that makes us very proud.

Lately we have designed prototype frames with master framebuilder Yorgos Vogiatzis, operating out form Rhodes, Island and one of them will be an Alu Aero frame. In addition, FGA, is involved in Bondex Courriers, the first cycle courier company in Athens, and many of our riders are involved in this.

Now, FGA, is more like a community, a group of people that exists not only on an internet space but out there in reality. Working, designing, organising, filming and above all riding.

This space will cover FGA activity from this new, elaborated and exciting perspective.

The history of FGA up to the completion of “ATH: Commuting In Madness” is documented here.
