prototype frames
Fixed Gear Athens in association with master framebuilder Yorgos Vogiatzis (Fidusa Cycles) have been collaborating on a project. The aim was to create a prototype signature frame for FGA’s riders. This is an alu aero type of frame built for speed, handling bumps and obstacles right and be responsive as hell.
So, the waiting is finally over. We have waited a long time ourselves but I think now all of us are starting getting excited about the outcome of our combined efforts.
Four different entities have worked in this frame: Fixed Gear Athens riders, especially Christian, Harris and Agi – framebuilder Yorgos Vogiatzis, the Fidusa workspace and factory in Rhodes and 48×17 Cycles helping out getting the frame to the market.
This frame for us combines Yorgos’ vast experience building race bikes for most of Hellenic National Team’s cyclists, as well as FGA’s fresh look on urban cycling.
We have tested the bike and we can say that we are really happy with the geometry and the tubing. It is responsive, fast and it gives full control of the bike. Its like you are riding a bomb.
We are offering the frame with an option of aluminum fork (with cro-mo steerer), or a full carbon fork.
There are protecting blades for the drop-outs, an outrageouly 90s design but in our opinion is at the same time subtle and refined. The frame is available through 48×17 Cycles.
